Shangqiu University, an esteemed institution affiliated with the China Chunlai Education Group, held the highly anticipated 2023 Summer Social Practice Launch Ceremony on June 29th. The event aimed to study the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the important speeches by General Secretary Jinping Xi. It also sought to implement the spirit of the National University Ideological and Political Work Conference, as well as the "Opinions on Further Strengthening and Improving Social Practice for College Students," jointly issued by the Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party, the Civilization Office of China, the Ministry of Education, and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.
The launch ceremony was attended by Deputy Secretary and Vice President Zaiwang Zhang, along with relevant leaders from the Organization Department of the Chinese Communist Party, the Party Committee Publicity Department, the United Front Work Department, the School League Committee and secretaries of the second-level college branch committees. This ceremony symbolized the university's commitment to leveraging the strengths of practical education to further enhance the social practice activities for college students.
Zaiwang Zhang, the school representative, expressed his warm greetings to the upcoming participants of the social practice program, including both teachers and students. He emphasized the significance of social practice in fostering the overall qualities of college students and serving as an interactive platform for ideological and political education within universities. Zhang outlined four fundamental hopes for the students participating in the program. Firstly, he encouraged students to prioritize safety, acting as 'safeguards' by maintaining awareness of personal safety, food safety, and property safety. Secondly, he urged students to integrate knowledge into action and be bold in exploring and identifying problems. Moreover, he emphasized the importance of cultivating students' innovative and entrepreneurial spirits through immersive participation. Lastly, he reminded students to combine theoretical knowledge gained from books with practical knowledge gained from their experiences in the field. This entails immersing themselves in grassroots communities to better understand the needs and sentiments of the people and honing their skills and qualities when faced with challenges.
During the ceremony, Zaiwang Zhang presented the flag to the enthusiastic social practice group. Shufeng Li, Director of the Party Committee Publicity Department and the United Front Work Department, shared the official "Notice on the 2023 "Return Home" Summer Social Practice Activities", adding excitement to the event. The ceremony also featured inspiring speeches from representatives of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Information, highlighting the enthusiasm and dedication of both faculty and students.
