Anyang University, formerly known as the School of Humanities and Management of Anyang Normal University, was founded in 2003. It is a higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education to implement general undergraduate education. In May 2016, it was officially transferred to Anyang University. The school now has "Thirteen Academies and Two Departments" and has established 14 scientific research institutions including the Oracle Art Research Center, the Red Flag Canal Spiritual Research Center, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute. The school takes discipline construction as the leader and always adheres to the guiding ideology of discipline construction of "optimizing structure, highlighting key points, cross-gathering, and coordinated development". It has 44 undergraduate majors, 37 junior college majors, and 3 dual bachelor's degree majors, covering 8 disciplines including literature, science, engineering, law, economics, management, education, and art. Among them, majors such as information management and information system, fine arts, accounting, computer science and technology, English, mechanical and electronic engineering, logistics management, environmental design have been approved as provincial-level first-class undergraduate programs in Henan province. They are also recognized as specialty programs and brand speicialties.

In November 2021, the school was once again approved by the Henan Provincial Department of Education to award a master's degree to the project construction unit.
